Roberto Martinez was appointed Everton FC manager in June 2013, taking over from David Moyes. The Spaniard had previously been in charge at Swansea City and more recently Wigan Athletic, winning the FA Cup in his final season in charge of the Latics. In his playing days, largely based in England with spells in Spain and Scotland, he made a total of 437 appearances and scored 31 goals.
