Star chef is ‘bonus’ for firm

TOP TV chef Gordon Ramsey has stepped in to support a unique safety product distributed by a Deeside firm.

Safety Now, which is celebrating a successful first year in business, has welcomed the famous chef’s showcasing of the non-slip safety equipment and workplace footwear, Shoes for Crews.

The star of The F Word and Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares is currently sporting the durable shoes on his USA Hell’s Kitchen series.

Safety Now, which lists Carlsberg, Silver Spoon and Burger King among its clients, is one of few UK safety suppliers to specialise in the Shoes for Crews brand.

The business has also secured contracts with the NHS and several of the area’s county councils.

Founded by director Nia Manning, 26, Safety Now has trebled its turnover in the past year and operates throughout the UK from busy offices in Deeside and Manchester.

Supported by a strong team, Ms Manning is planning to expand her workforce as demand for the shoes and safety wear increases.

Ms Manning explained: “I founded Safety Now after spotting the potential the Shoes for Crews brand had in the UK. It’s already popular in the US and Ireland but little-known here in the UK.

“Our safety equipment is tested by the Health and Safety Executives and proven to be among the best on the market in Europe.ŠOur clients are more than satisfied with the product and have commented that it has actually prevented slips altogether in the workplace.

“To have someone as high- profile as Gordon Ramsey wearing the product on a television show that is watched by millions is a real bonus.”
