Rok gets £4om orders on board

CONSTRUCTION firm Rok’s Liverpool office yesterday reported it had a current order book of £40m after winning several significant contracts.

Following the launch of the company’s city-based office at the beginning of the year, Rok in Liverpool has enjoyed rapid growth.

In recent months, the company has secured and begun work on a series of large-scale building contracts including a £5.35m eco-building scheme at Atwell Street in Everton for Liverpool Housing Trust and a £6.9m 50,000 sq ft office facility at Atlantic Park, which will see disused land regenerated into north Liverpool’s first mixed use business park.

The Rok Liverpool team has begun work at Wirral Boys’ Grammar School, on refurbishment and build works under a £3.36m contract. Phase one is also now under way at another new office scheme – South Liverpool Investment, Bootle.

Martin Ormston, Rok area leader, said: “The first half of this year has been outstanding for the Liverpool office in terms of all-round growth. We now have a fantastic team in place that is able to deliver and manage a diverse range of projects.”

Nationally, Rok yesterday reported a 75% rise in half-year profits as it eyed further gains in a thriving building and maintenance market.

Group revenues soared 44% to £434m following the acquisitions, while the firm’s share price rose by nearly 6%.

Chairman Stephen Pettit added: “The potential to grow our UK market share with our successful operating model is significant.”

Rok also enjoyed like-for-like revenues growth of 20%, besides the boost from recent deals.
