FORD bosses say workers at the company’s Halewood plant will have to wait until later this year for any news on the possible sale of the company’s Jaguar and Land Rover brands.
The head of the company’s European operations, Lewis Booth, said today the company would not make an announcement about the sale of its subsidiaries until late this year or into 2008.
Mr Booth, executive vice president of Ford’s European units, said Ford was also reviewing the future of its Volvo brand.
“It’s a very orderly process,” he said.
In July Ford revealed it had received several expressions of interest in Jaguar and Land Rover. Ford employs more than 2,400 people at Halewood building the new Freelander and Jaguar X-Type models.
