Executives in job creation bid

THREE business executives from Liverpool have helped launch a jobs partnership, which will create 280 new jobs in Haydock.

The Haydock Regeneration Partnership involves St Helens Council, the local Chamber of Commerce, Jobcentre Plus and Surestart and centres on a new Tesco superstore.

More than 100 of the new full and part-time jobs will go to the long-term unemployed, single parents and people who have been made redundant.

Anfield man Steve Carroll of Crosby Training will deliver the retail training course over eight weeks and the team have taken over a disused infants school in Haydock as their headquarters.

Mr Carroll is working with colleague Diane Anders from Childwall and Jobcentre Plus executive Andrea Francis, from Maghull.
