Planning granted for new shops

OUTLINE planning permission has been granted for a new 4,000 sq ft retail unit in Breckfield Road South in Anfield, Liverpool.

Local company Invest in Liverpool has been given the go-ahead for the development of the site, which it says is part of its drive to help regeneration.

Planning permission was secured on appeal after Liverpool City Council had refused an initial planning application. Planning consultants Knight Frank, assisted by transport specialists Faber Maunsell, represented Invest In Liverpool during the appeal process.

The site, once a car park, is next to a former Benefits Office, which Invest in Liverpool also owns and plans to convert to a mixed office and retail development.

Planning consultant Samuel Stafford of Knight Frank said: “This is an exciting project for the whole community due to its sustainable location with regards to public transport and the site’s potential to contribute to future retail.
