AIRBUS said its 2007 sales were neck-and-neck with arch-rival Boeing in a year which was the biggest-ever for commercial plane orders.
It meant shares in parent company EADS were given a lift, clos-ing up 2.65% at 19.35 euros (£14.62).
EADS chief executive Louis Gallois said Airbus, which builds its wings in Broughton near Chester, had seen an “exceptional 2007”.
