Card company pleased to whistle up Albert Dock base

LIVERPOOL’S Albert Dock complex has secured its first commercial tenant of 2008.

The Whistlefish Gallery, which will open on March 1, was formed in 1996 by Lynda Thompson, who had created hand painted greetings cards in the kitchen of her home in Cornwall, and then sold them at local craft fairs.

The opening of the Albert Dock site adds to the four existing sites in Cornwall. The company has chosen the Albert Dock as the ideal location for the growing brand.

The company has enjoyed success over the last 11 years and now prints, promotes and retails contemporary art and greetings cards throughout the United Kingdom and to many countries internationally.

Claire Barrington, proprietor of The Whistlefish Gallery, Liverpool, said: “All of our locations are near the water’s edge - the river is so important to our brand. It was only natural that we decided to locate to The Albert Dock.”
