A YOUNG entrepreneur brought a new taste of Liverpool to delegates at the world’s largest property convention.
Sam Tawil, of Liverpool company Transition Espresso, created a special Liverpool blend of coffee which he served to delegates at MIPIM in Cannes.
The coffee, each cup of which has a leaf-shaped decoration in foam on the top, proved a hit with delegates from across the world, with even coffee-loving Italian visitors making a detour to try Mr Tawil’s handiwork.
Mr Tawil hopes his attendance at MIPIM will be a boost for his business ambitions.
He said: “Everyone seemed to really like the coffee.
“Latte art in foam on top of cups of coffee is big in the coffee world. It shows you’re taking care over making the coffee.”
Mr Tawil also acts as a consultant to coffee houses, training staff and helping them select coffee.
His love for coffee-making developed when he worked in bars and restaurants.
“I realised I preferred making coffee to making cocktails,” he said.
“I love making coffee because you’re constantly learning.”
