USE of Liverpool city centre’s wireless broadband network has seen growth of more than 40% since it was launched by BT and Liverpool City Council last November .

According to figures released by BT’s Wireless Cities programme, the number of people using the city centre network has increased by more than 42.3%.

The area around the Superlambanana statue, on the corner of Tithebarn Street and Vauxhall Road, has emerged as the most popular place for people to use the new network and surf the net.

Some of Liverpool’s busiest streets – around Lime Street Station, Philharmonic Hall in Hope Street and City Law Courts in Derby Square – are also popular.
