City firm’s Crystal film gem wins computer graphics award

A SHORT film showing three crystals soaring above London has scooped Liverpool design and digital consultancy Uniform a national computer graphics award.

Uniform’s film, Crystal, was created to promote Liverpool developer Beetham’s Trinity EC3 development in London.

It won the Design Visualisation – Moving Image category at the inaugural Escape Awards. Another Uniform film, The Quarter, was shortlisted for the same award.

Trinity EC3, the first in the UK to be designed by Foreign Office Architects, is a cluster of three glass buildings in the City of London.

Uniform’s film follows three crystals, representing the three buildings, through the City.

Creative director Laurie Jones said: “We are very pleased to have won this award against such strong competition. Computer-generated work can often be under-recognised.”

The Escape Awards, organised by Escape Studios, celebrate the wealth of talent in the computer graphics industry in the UK. Trainspotting director Danny Boyle was among those on the judging panel.
