Wirral Waters advisers named

PROPERTY giant Peel has appointed CB Richard Ellis to bring forward plans for its huge £4.5bn Wirral Waters scheme.

The project will see 500 acres of derelict brownfield land on the Mersey waterfront undergo a mixed-use regeneration.

Plans for Wirral Waters currently encompass high-rise buildings and the provision of 11m sq ft of residential apartments, 5m sq ft of office accommodation and more than 500,000 sq ft of retail space.

It will transform both sides of an underdeveloped part of the Mersey waterfront, creating up to 27,000 jobs in the process.

CBRE’s team of regeneration, office, residential and hospitality and leisure experts is now closely involved in plans for the project.

Liverpool-based Chris Hennessy, director of office agency at CBRE, said: “Wirral Waters is one of the largest and most exciting regeneration opportunities in the UK.

“It represents a huge opportunity to revitalise large tracks of waterside land with considerable latent value when brought forward as part of a co-ordinated master-plan.

“CBRE firmly believes that Wirral Waters will become one of the region’s most impressive regeneration schemes, quickly winning a reputation as a new desirable residential, business and leisure location.”

John Ogden, director of office agency at CBRE, added: “We are delighted to be able to work alongside Peel Holdings, in Wirral Waters.”
