LIVERPOOL business people will come out in force on Friday to show their support for the NSPCC’s Hargreaves Centre.
The NSPCC Safe Place Sporting Lunch takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the city’s waterfront.
The Hargreaves Centre in Everton provides the full range of NSPCC services under one roof. It opened last year following the success of the £17m Safe Place Appeal, run in conjunction with the Liverpool Daily Post.
It offers help with issues such as abuse, drugs, bullying and self-harm to children across Merseyside and the North West.
Last year’s event raised more than £60,000 and it is hoped this year’s lunch will top that.
Guest speaker is legendary British athlete Roger Black. He is the former world 400 metres silver medallist who also scooped gold in the 4x400m relay.
A charity auction and raffle will also give guests the chance to edit an edition of the Liverpool Daily Post and bid for cases of Champagne.
The Sporting Lunch is being sponsored by Anglo Irish Bank.
