Liverpool firm helps Hollywood star Cate Blanchett sparkle

LIVERPOOL company Sparkle Media has worked with Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett on a theatre project in Australia.

The visual effects and animation company created video footage for use in the play, Minutes of a Separation.

Its entire team of 3D animators and compositors was flown Down Under to work on the footage starring Blanchett.

The production, which also featured British actor Joseph Fiennes, was premiered at an event in Geneva at which Canadian singer Alanis Morissette performed.

Sparkle, which has worked closely with Merseyside Acme – a creative industries support agency – also worked on an advanced fitness website for Reebok while in Australia.

Director Glenn Maguire said: “Our current digital pipeline at our production facility allows us to work anywhere in the world, attracting global companies to Liverpool for some of the finest visual effects and production qualities outside London.

“The whole trip was quite an achievement for a bunch of guys and gals who started working together in a room above a pub in Liverpool only a few years ago.”
