VIMTO maker Nichols said yesterday it was “pleased” with its sales progress so far in 2008.
In a statement to the Haydock com- pany’s shareholders at its annual meeting, chairman John Nichols said: “The first 17 weeks’ trading in 2008 have been in line with our budget expectations and slightly ahead of the same period last year, despite strong comparatives for April, 2007, which was the sunniest month of the whole year.
“At this early stage, we are pleas- ed with progress in the year to date, and are on track to deliv- er further progress in the full year.”
The soft drinks firm also announced it had appointed Taylor Purkis as finance director.
Mr Purkis, 40, currently holds the same post for the European operations of Energizer, a global, branded consumer goods company.
Mr Nichols added: “We expect Taylor to join the business around the middle of July, 2008, and believe his international background and FMCG experience will be a valuable addition to the executive team.”
