THE new St Helens Railway Station won the Infrastructure Award at the North West Regional Construction Awards 2008 at Liverpool’s BT Convention Centre.
Organised by the University of Salford’s Centre for Construction Innovation, the Awards saw 15 North West construction and property organisations win prizes – including engineer C Spencer’s work on Network Rail’s station and Liverpool Anglican Cathedral’s new visitors’ centre by Mansell Construction Services.
Other winners included Liverpool Land Development Company’s Edge Lane Project – a programme of commercial, residen- tial and infrastructure improvements to rejuvenate a city centre route.
More than 550 guests from the construction and property-related industries attended the second annual event, at which the BBC’s Diane Oxberry presented.
