LIVERPOOL entrepreneur Sharon Hilditch has been honoured by the Duke of Edinburgh for her “outstanding contribution” to the beauty industry.
She was awarded the Prince Philip Medal in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in recognition of the success of her Crystal Clear brand, which she launched in 2005 and now has a celebrity following.
The medals are awarded by Prince Philip, President of the City & Guilds of London Institute, to those who achieve outstanding success.
Ms Hilditch started her career with a City & Guilds qualification in hairdressing aged 17. After founding and selling two salons, she launched Crystal Clear to sell micro-dermabrasion anti-ageing skincare treatments.
Crystal Clear products are now sold to 20 countries worldwide and the company supplies stars, including Madonna, Cindy Crawford and Victoria Beckham.
Ms Hilditch said: “Being recognised and awarded for something I truly love is an experience I will always remember and am sure the memory will stay with me for a very long time.”
