City firm’s credit crunch advice

AN INITIATIVE devel- oped in Liverpool to help businesses through the credit crunch is going nationwide.

The Liverpool team of Grant Thornton has produced a comprehensive credit crunch survival guide which has proved so thought-provoking it is to be adopted nationally by the firm.

The 10-point guide, out today, outlines how businesses can improve their position and even turn tough conditions into an advantage.

The project has been driven by Liverpool-based entrepreneurial advisory partner, Howard Hackney.

He said: “Anyone who traded through the recession of the 90s has the experience and scar tissue to weather the storm, but younger companies may need help to plot a way forward. A back-to-basics approach is crucial to surviving the crunch.

“It’s about instilling the right discipline in the business – crucial if you want to forge ahead in times of uncertainty.”
