LIVERPOOL Vision’s 12-strong board met for the first time as it seeks to create a plan to develop the city’s economy in the years ahead.
The new economic development agency started work in April – formed from the merger of the former Liverpool Vision, Liv-erpool Land Develop-ment Company and BusinessLiverpool.
Discussion centred round Liverpool Vision’s business plan and Liverpool’s involvement at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
BNFL chief execu-tive and Liverpool Vision chairman Mike Parker said: “It was a strong and positive start and I feel we hit the ground running. The contributions were excellent and I am impressed alrea-dy with how this group is working together.”
BOARD members include public and private sector representatives: David Bundred, chairman, Business Angel Investments; Jeanette Kehoe-Perkinson, MD, Just for People Ltd; John Kelly, senior execu-tive, KPMG; Dougal Paver, MD, Paver Smith; Tony Wilson, senior partner, Hill Dickinson – all from the private sector.
The remainder of the 12-strong board is made up of Paul Spooner, English Partnerships regional director; Steve Broomhead, chief executive, Northwest Development Agen-cy; Cllr Warren Brad-ley, leader, Liverpool City Council; Cllr Mike Storey, execu-tive member for regeneration; Cllr Joe Anderson, leader of opposition, Liver-pool City Council.
Chief Executive of Tesco Plc Sir Terry Leahy is also on the board, but sent his apologies.
