BUILDING firms in the North West can apply, from August 1, for their slice of a record £170m in CITB-ConstructionSkills Grants for training.
Last year more than £12.5m was paid to North Western employers to support staff training.
Yet only 37% of firms who could claim actually did so.
An independent survey showed that 84% of UK employers felt CITB-ConstructionSkills grants helped them train new starters.
Firms can now also get grants for courses in sustainability and innovative methods of building as well as for traditional methods.
Grants for courses on health and safety or apprenticeship training are also available to companies.
Employers should visit www.cskills.org/grant for the latest information.
This information will include full details of the grants available and the terms and conditions that apply.
