Finder of hidden gems

CHESHIRE and Warrington’s film office has moved to the centre of Chester as it tries to attract more film crews to the county.

The office, one of five operated by Northwest Vision and Media, has in the past 12 months generated an estimated £43m of inward investment in the North West.

Last year the region doubled as 17th century England and 1980s Berkshire for two productions, while Liverpool’s Lime Pictures made fly-on-the-wall soap Living on the Edge in and around Alderley Edge.

Cheshire’s film liaison officer Emma Welland said: “I’m now based within the Visit Chester and Cheshire offices, right next to Chester’s railway station.

“It’s my job to let people know just what the county has to offer. There are so many hidden gems in the region.”
