JOHNSON Service Group has been boosted by an enthusiastic take-up of its share offer which raised £8m.
The dry cleaning firm, which moved its head office back to the North West earlier this year, offered 49.9m shares at 20p to shareholders. Nearly 80% of the offer was taken up, which delighted the group’s management.
Executive chairman John Talbot said: “We are very pleased.”
The move followed the successful placing of 150m ordinary shares with institutional and professional investors in July. The placing raised £30m, with the proceeds used to reduce the company’s bank debt.
The group, which moved its headquarters from Bootle to London last year but is now based in Preston Brook, has three businesses in the UK. Its dry cleaning operation is based in Prescot, workwear division Apparelmaster is in Fulwood, near Preston, and facilities management in Leicester.
