NEW figures reveal that St Helens Chamber’s Business Winning Business (BWB) project has led to more than £16.5m of new business for the borough.
BWB is a scheme run by the chamber with the aim of increasing the level of business conducted by St Helens companies.
Launched in April 2006 as part of the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, the project has helped more than 1,000 small companies to increase their competitive advantage over companies from outside the borough.
The programme helps companies to improve their effectiveness in a number of ways: through support with tendering, the use of technology, the provision of training for staff and assistance in attaining industry approved standards that will open the doors to winning larger contracts from regional and national buyers.
Helen Graham, supply chain development manager at St Helens Chamber, said: “The aim of Business Winning Business project is to give companies the tools to become self sufficient.”
