Economy findings published

THE Mersey Partnership will publish its latest Merseyside Economic Review tomorrow.

The 36-page summary report pulls together a wide variety of economic data and information from a variety of sources. A fuller version of the report can be downloaded online and on a CD-Rom.

The Merseyside Economic Review 2008 brings together official national data which allows Liverpool city region’s economic performance to be compared with its neighbours and similar areas around the country.

The report, now in its sixth-year, uses the most recently published data, though the majority of the statistics relate to 2005/06.

It claims the number of small businesses on Mersey- side has increased by a quarter .

However, it highlights Merseyside’s low level of productivity, and a fall in the employment rate.

TMP chief executive Lorraine Rogers said: “The Merseyside Economic Review is a valuable tool in assessing what we have achieved.”
