Building work begins on business village

WORK has started on the Meridian Business Village in Hunts Cross, Speke.

Prospect GB, a subsidiary of the Riverside Group, will speculatively develop the 2.65 acre site to provide 42,000sq ft of high-specification office accommodation that will be divided between 22 self-contained units which will range from 1,374sq ft to 5,406sq ft.

Acting on behalf of Bellway Homes, Atisreal in Manchester sold the prime development site, which was part of Hunts Cross residential development, to the property investment and development company.

The office agency division at Atisreal has been retained by Prospect GB and appointed with joint agents GVA Grimley. The space at Meridian Business Village will be available to purchase or to let.

The self-contained office accommodation will feature central heating, suspended ceilings and double glazing. Car and cycle parking is available for all units.

Tolent Construction has been appointed to undertake the construction and is currently undertaking work on the foundations; the offices will be completed and ready to welcome tenants in spring 2008.

Tim Taylor, director of office agency at Atisreal, Manchester, said: “Atisreal has been involved with Meridian Business Village since its inception and it is great to now be at the development stage.

“Hunts Cross presents a fantastic commercial offering and the area will certainly benefit from high quality business accommodation.

“Prospect GB is very adept at this kind of development, and now that activity on site can be seen there have been significant enquires from a variety of potential occupiers.”

Chris Heath, managing director of Prospect GB, added: “The start of activity on site is a particularly exciting time for us as we will now start to see the development take shape.

“Hunts Cross is becoming an increasingly popular business location due to its transport links and existing retail and leisure facilities.”
