Twin city revealed at children’s festival

LIVERPOOL’S Imagine Festival reaches a spectacular finale on Sunday with a children’s festival in the William Brown Street area.

For one magical day only, an imaginary city will appear, transforming Liverpool’s historic cultural quarter.

The inhabitants of Liver-pool’s secret twin city “Roopville” come in all co-lours, shapes and sizes, with a variety of unusual abilities.

The Liverpool Children’s Festival will showcase the talents of the city’s young people with a programme of performances throughout the day in St George’s Hall between 11am and 4pm.

Activities will be running in the World Museum, Walker Art Gallery, Central Library, St George’s Hall, St John’s Gardens and William Brown St including drumming, The Party Bus, The Beach, The Fruit Pharmacy, Circus Skills, Drama and much more.

Dee Whittle, facilitator of Liverpool Youth Culture Action Group, said: “Myself and the group are really looking forward to the 2008 Festival after all the hard work they have put into developing the event over the past seven years.

“I am extremely proud of what they have achieved.”
