A-LEVEL results across Merseyside are expected to be better than last year.
Many schools have seen record results in line with the national picture showing an increased pass rate and rises in key subjects.
Local authorities are busy correlating the figures, but Knowsley is celebrating provisional pass results of 93.7%.
The borough's Halewood College is also celebrating its first ever 100% pass rate.
Councillor Graham Wright, cabinet member for children and family services, said: "Our students work extremely hard to achieve success - often overcoming a range of challenges to educational achievement.
"They should be praised for their efforts and I hope they will go on to achieve great things."
Nationally, there has been another increase in the number of top grade As, with the proportion of A grade's rising from 25.3% to 25.9%
London saw the highest grades but the North West showed the greatest improvement on last year's results.
Emma Vaughan, from Halewood College, who is celebrating three As and a one B, said: I'm absolutely delighted. I've always been really passionate about the environment and I've got a place at Edinburgh University to study ecological science. This is the first step in the rest of my life."
