AT A height of 6ft 8ins, the Chester Jets team captain Calvin Davis aimed to make a big impression on youngsters when he visited pupils at a Wallasey school.

The Chester Jets were at St Alban's primary school in Wallasey to coach the children as part of their Health for Hoops campaign.

The Hoops for Health programme was launched in Chester by the BiG Storage Cheshire Jets in September 2007 and was delivered to 62 primary schools in the area during the 07/08 season.

The programme has been so successful that in 2008/2009 the Cheshire Jets will deliver Hoops for Health to a further 120 schools in across Chester, Warrington, Wirral and North Wales, in partnership with Cheshire Constabulary.

The aim of the scheme is to deliver a healthy living programme through professional sporting role models, using basketball.
