Liverpool student union's attack on business leaders over tuition fee hike call

LIVERPOOL student union chiefs have attacked “arrogant” business leaders for recommending a hike in tuition fees.

A report of The Confederation of British Industry says university students in the UK should fork out more for their loans and accept higher tuition fees as “inevitable”.

But University of Liverpool guild of students president, Danielle Grufferty, said: “Families in some of the poorest parts of Liverpool will be further deterred from considering entering higher education. To talk of higher fees, but nothing on employer contribution, shows how they are willing to get the most out of the system, by excluding those less privileged .”
