Jamie Carragher kicks off Liverpool’s Talent Week
LIVERPOOL defender Jamie Carragher kicked off a week-long celebration of young talent.
The Bootle-born footballer launched Talent Week at Liverpool ONE.
The free interactive action-packed week is the brainchild of Liverpool-based charity Business in the Community, and aims to promote the message that everybody regardless of age, background or school results has a talent.
Young people from across the region have worked with business volunteers to create thousands of virtual bricks highlighting their talent and future ambitions.
The bricks feature on three spectacular Talent Walls at Liverpool ONE this week.
And, after unveiling one of the walls, Jamie urged children “to follow your dreams and just keep going”.
Regional managing director of Trinity Mirror North West and North Wales, Sara Wilde, also gave a speech at yesterday’s launch.
Congratulating everyone involved, she said: “We can help to encourage, inspire and support our young people to demand for themselves and to get a positive and rewarding future in this our great city.”
