Warrington GCSE results improve again

WARRINGTON students continued to make progress.

The number of children achieving five good GCSEs including maths and English went up from 49.8% to 53.4%, eclipsing the 47.6% national average.

The overall number of students getting five good GCSEs also rose to 71.6%, more than 2% above last years efforts.

Warrington also proved good things come in threes.

It had three schools among the UKs 200 most improving schools between 2005 and 2008.

The triumphant trio are Culcheth high school, Birchwood community high and Padgate community high.

The league table salutes schools making continued inroads in terms of the number of students getting five A* to C-grades including English and maths in their GCSEs.
