Knowsley in environmental partnership with business

EXPERTS from Knowsley Council showcased initiatives aimed at helping residents cut energy bills at a major conference on climate change.

The Local Government Association Climate Change Conference was the second part of the From Copenhagen to Croydon conference, held in December.

Knowsley has a number of long-standing initiatives in place to help residents save money.

Knowsley’s Business Environment Club also has more than 100 members, including QVC and Jaguar, who continue to work closely with the council to look at ways to make their business greener and to identify opportunities for funding and support.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills said: “At Knowsley, we take our responsibility for addressing climate change seriously. We already have many initiatives in place and work closely with partner organisations, businesses and residents.

“Attending the conference was a chance to open up opportunities to share knowledge and experience and identify opportunities to do more and continue to play our part.”

Cllr Eddie Connor, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Community and Culture, said: “Climate change is an important issue for us all locally, nationally and at an international level. It is vital we all do our bit.”
