Welshpool Town 0 Airbus UK Broughton 1

A FINE goal from joint top-scorer Paul Hallows brought the perfect end to a season of massive improvement for Airbus on Saturday.

The hitman completed a flowing move by outmuscling his marker and curling in a beauty from 18 yards.

It ensured the Broughton visitors, already guaranteed a record 11th-placed finish, of their first league win over the Mid Wales outfit in eight attempts.

Gareth Owen’s side had already gone close before Hallows’ 14th-minute winner through James McIntosh, who had further chances to pip his strike partner to the mantle of being the club’s leading marksman.

Phil Molyneux passed up the opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet, too, while at the other end Phil Doran kept out the impressive Kyle Jacobs, who also hit the post.

But Doran saved his best stop until injury-time when he denied one-time Wingmakers target Aden Shannon.
