Baxter on target as U18s draw

EVERTON under-18s opened their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw with Carlisle United.
Carlisle took the lead through Jonny Blake before half-time. But England schoolboy international Jose Baxter, from Bootle, equalised 10 minutes into the second half, heading in Danny Redmond’s cross. Academy Manager Ray Hall said: “It gave the chance for the lads to get to know each other. There is still a lot of work to be done.”
The U18s are next in action on Saturday against Wigan Athletic at Netherton (kick-off 11am).
