Cut-price tickets for Goodison’s European return

EVERTON have announced a cut-price initiative to ensure a packed Goodison for the club’s return to Europe later this month – with tickets available from just £5.

Season tickets holders will have the chance to purchase match tickets for £15 for the UEFA Cup first round first leg against Metalist Kharkiv on Thursday, September 20.

The exclusive period, which began yesterday, runs until Tuesday during which season tickets holders under 16 or over 65 are able to buy tickets for £5.

Evertonia members will have their own pre-sale window on next Wednesday and Thursday when tickets will be available at £18 per adult and £8 per concession.

The same price banding will apply to all remaining tickets and will go on general sale from Friday, September 14.

Tickets have also gone on general sale for next Saturday’s visit of eighth-placed Manchester United.

Meanwhile, James Vaughan has stepped up his rehabilitation following the dislocated shoulder suffered in the pre-season friendly at Preston North End.

The striker, who had previously been confined to the gym, has now been cleared to start running and is also working on the movement in the injured shoulder joint.

“I only started running this week but at the moment I’m just trying to get the full range of movement back in my shoulder,” Vaughan said. “Once that happens, it shouldn’t take too long to get it back up to full strength.

“The coaching staff and medical team have set the target for me to return by November and that remains the plan but it would be great if I could come back a bit before then and I’m quietly confident. It’s just a question of being sensible.

“It’s not an injury that can be rushed. If I haven’t got the movement there, I can’t come back. It’s that simple. But I’m pleased with the way things are going.

“It’s been frustrating because you feel like you can run around and kick balls but if I fell on it now, the same thing would happen again.”
