EVERTON FC defender Joleon Lescott made his senior England debut during Saturday's 3-0 victory over Estonia.
The Toffees' defender played the entire second half after coming on as a substitute for Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand.
Lescott initally began in central defence before moving into the left-back slot following injury to Chelsea's Ashley Cole.
At that point, Everton skipper Phil Neville was brought on.
The injury to Cole increases the chances of Lescott beginning England's match against Russia on Wednesday.
All of England's
goals came in the opening half, with Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney netting along with an own goal.
