NEWLY-CROWNED Chilean league champions Everton want to invite their namesakes in England, who they were named after, to celebrate their centenary next year.
CD Everton, coached by Nelson Acosta, came back from a 2-0 defeat to Santiago giants Colo Colo in the first leg by beating the Caciques 3-0 in the return match to lift their fourth national title last weekend.
President Antonio Bloise confirmed the club will start negotiations with Premier League Everton.
He said: “We want them to come this summer (England’s winter).
“We’ll try to set as many negotiations as possible.”
The team is also considering a new line of merchandise to celebrate the event, including a special kit.
