IAIN TURNER was signed for a nominal fee from his boyhood club Stirling Albion, in the summer of 2003 and made his debut as a second half substitute in a 3-0 friendly win over Bologna in August of that year.

A loan spell at Chester City in 2003/04 followed, before David Moyes rewarded him with a new four year contract in 2005, keeping him at the club until 2009.

Another loan period at Wycombe Wanderers followed in the initial stages of the 2005/06 season, before Turner finally made his Everton debut as a replacement for the injured Richard Wright, late on, in a 4-1 FA Cup fourth round defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in February 2006.

Three days later, his Premiership debut arrived at Goodison Park, where the Blues faced Blackburn. Sadly, the young keeper lasted only eight minutes before being sent off for handling the ball outside the penalty area.

Turner's next first team outing came on the final day of that season, standing in for the injured Richard Wright and playing the full 90 minutes of the Everton's 2-2 draw against relegated West Bromwich Albion at Goodison.

The keeper spent most of the 2006-2007 season out on loan putting in impressive spells at Crystal Palace and Sheffield Wednesday.
