A product of the Everton Academy, Anichebe progressed through the ranks to become a regular player of the Under 18 Academy and later the reserves.

His meteoric rise saw him make his first team debut as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the FA Cup fourth round at Goodison in January 2006.

His first Everton goal came on the final day of the same season, as he netted in a 2-2 draw against West Brom at Goodison after coming on as a substitute.

A powerful and pacy striker, Victor was born in Nigeria. He signed a two year professional contract with Everton in April 2006, which he extended to 2011 in May 2007.

Anichebe featured heavily as a substitute for the Blues throughout 2006/7, eventually earning his first full league debut against Chelsea.  He scored three league goals.

He has been called up for the Nigerian squad but is yet to play football for his country.
