IT MAY be tucked away in the Liverpool suburbs but Amber has all the class of an upmarket city centre venue and then some.
Situated on Rose Lane this wine bar and bistro has become quite a magnet for the well-heeled of this affluent neighbourhood.
And it is easy to see why. All damask wallpaper, mirrors, gilt chandeliers and black and gold wallpaper panels it is a sophisticated kind of place.
Modelled on the traditional Parisian bistro, Amber offers a great place to enjoy a nice glass of wine or a cocktail but is also a fantastic place to dine.
In the daytime the ladies’ lunch crowd are right at home with Amber’s coffee and pastries, gourmet sandwiches and bistro food.
Then in the evening take your pick from the wide range of dishes that are on offer from simple tapas, to spicy Portuguese stew, steamed mussels and vegetarian mezze.
Meanwhile wine afficionados are sure to find something to take their fancy on the wine list which features more than 30 wines and Champagnes - many by the glass. For those who like a lazy weekend the Amber Sunday brunch menu takes some beating - we recommend the Full Amber for English breakfast fans.
