Recipe: Barbecued Banana Picnic Boat
Jun 16 2008 by Connor Armstrong, Liverpool Daily Post
CHILDREN love picky food that is colourful and imaginative, so the following recipe is written with barbecues in mind.
They can grab something to eat on the hoof while they are playing. It’s messy . . .but delicious.
Ingredients (makes 2)
1 banana
1 Picnic bar or other favourite chocolate bar
Tin foil
Method
1. Remove two strips of banana peel and cut the banana carefully into 2.5cm pieces while still in its skin.
2. Do the same with the Picnic bar, then remove every other piece of banana and replace with a piece of the chocolate bar.
3. Wrap in tin foil. Make another wrap with the leftover banana and chocolate pieces lined up on a piece of discarded banana skin. Wrap in tin foil.
4. Place on the barbecue for 5- 10 minutes, until the chocolate and banana have melted together.
