Recipe: Mini Kebabs with Garlic Mayo

THESE kebabs are a tea-time favourite served with salad or chips. If you are using chips to finish your dish, use the oven variety as a chip-pan can be dangerous and an adult needs to be in charge.

Ingredients (Makes 6)

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 beaten egg

250g minced beef

1 small onion

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 small jar of ready minced garlic

1 small jar mayonnaise

6 wooden kebab skewers

Method

1. Finely dice the onion. Put it into a bowl with the minced beef, the beaten egg, breadcrumbs and curry powder and mix together thoroughly.

2. Take small amounts and shape into small sausages. Depending on how big your sausages are, you may be able to thread one or two onto each kebab stick.

3. Place in a medium grill, turning the sticks after 5 minutes until the mixture browns, about 10 minutes in total.

4. For the mayonnaise mixture, take a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise. Place it into a small bowl and add half a teaspoon of the minced garlic. Stir well until the garlic is blended in and serve with the kebabs.
