Cheshire joy

CHESHIRE Boys Under 14 team retained their Four Counties Short Course Championship title at Broughton Heath Golf Club, in Derbyshire.

The team comprised Oliver Carr (Heswall), Tom Greenfield (Royal Liverpool), Adam Charnock (Vale Royal Millennium), James Newton (Prestbury), Tom Heggarty (Royal Liverpool) and Josh Dye (Delamere Forest).

The format was 36 holes’ stroke-play with the best five scores out of six to count in each round. By halfway, Cheshire led by 13 shots from Nottinghamshire with an impressive second round extending their winning margin to an impressive 33 shots.

SCORES: Cheshire 602; Nottinghamshire 635; Derbyshire 638; Worcestershire 679.
