Event is dropped

THE R&A has decided to drop the British Mid-Amateur Championship from its championship calendar due to the lack of numbers taking part.

The British Mid-Amateur, first played in 1995, restricts entry to male amateur golfers aged 25 and over, but small fields have led to a lack of quality in depth.
