Southport and Ainsdale Ladies, winners of the Lancashire Ladies Bronze Shield.
SOUTHPORT and Ainsdale are the 2007 winners of the Lancashire Ladies Bronze Shield.
S&A beat Bentham 3&2 in the final at Rochdale to win the title with an unbeaten run of played 12, won ten, halved two.
Team captain Pat Henshaw said: “While the trophy has only been going four years we are thrilled and proud to win.
“Apart from the individual performances I would like to thank the low handicap ladies from the club who, while not playing, gave their experience and time to act as caddies during the last four important matches.”
The S&A players for the Bronze Shield campaign have been: Linda Edge, Betty Waterson, Vicky Shepherd, Jean Towndrow, Paula Morris, Marion Bennett, Jessica Birch, Carole Fitzgibbon, Tess Rimmer, Liz Hurley-Dawber, Elaine Kite, Joan Downing, Carol Proudley, Pat Jackson, Olivia Attenborough.
The supporting caddies for the final matches were: Dot Ravey, Dilys Rimmer, Linda Nolte, Pat Kirkham, Claudette Storer and Carole Fitzgibbon.
The 2007 Lancashire Ladies Handicap Shield champions are Burnley, who won the final against St. Annes at Southport and Ainsdale.
