DEADLY duo Mike Hollingworth and David Green turned on a spell-binding performance at Wychwood Park to win the PGA North Region Fourball Championship for the second year running.
They conjured up 10 birdies in a flawless 62 as they finished three shots clear of Westerhope pair Michael Nesbit and George Cowan and Warrington’s Graham Cox and Mark Hancock, from Stand.
“We dovetailed perfectly,” said big-hitting 35-year-old Denton professional Hollingworth. “David is always steady so I can unleash my drives a bit move but we missed a few chances. I lipped out three times.”
Green, 28, was his assistant before taking over at Dukinfield and the two know each other’s game inside out. Last year they won the Glenbrae qualifier at Woodsome Hall but had to pull out of the national final because Hollingworth had earned a trip to Bahrain in the PGA Pro-Captain Challenge.
