TOMMY FLEETWOOD and Josh Sims both reached the last 32 of this year’s Boys Amateur Championship at Royal Porthcawl.

The Formby Hall golfer was beaten 2&1 by Nicolai Aagaard of Denmark while the Cheshire junior captain from Caldy bowed out 5&3 to Henri Pyykola of Finland. Adam Wills (Sandiway) lost in the last 64, 3&2 to Fraser Fotheringham (Nairn) while Richard Fitzgerald (Bromborough) lost in the second round by two holes to Jack Hiluta (Chelmsford)
