Martin Edge hits a shot to remember at Prenton

HESKETH assistant professional Martin Edge produced a shot to remember during the Liverpool Alliance meeting at Prenton.

Playing with Hesketh member Will Sum, Martin’s tee shot at the par three 16th spun back into the cup for an ace. Martin won a £50 voucher for his special shot, tied for the best professional prize with his score of 68 and then topped it all by winning the fourball pro-am with his partner, Will.

As a first year rookie assistant professional, Martin has already won during the Alliance’s winter programme.

Playing partners Barry Bragg (Hesketh) and Southport and District Golf Association Executive Secretary Keith Hick were impressed by his performance.

“Martin is working hard on his game together with securing his PGA qualifications and is very clear-minded as to what he wants to achieve,” said Keith. “His skill and all-round shot-making abilities are impressive and we are delighted to see Martin beginning to make a name for himself and hopefully following in the footsteps of Nick Dougherty and Lee Slattery.”
