Wirral Open open

GOLFERS are reminded to book early for one of the biggest events in the region, the Wirral Open Championship, now in its 22nd year and so popular the entry list is often oversubscribed.

The venue is Brackenwood and the date is Saturday, June 14.

Entry forms have been sent to all Wirral-based club secretaries, but those who want to play can also contact Wirral Open officer, GW Brogan on 0151 339 9817.

The entry fee of £18 includes green fee, buffet lunch and the opportunity to compete for £1,000 worth of prizes. The handicap limit is 18 and players must be aged at least 18 to enter.

Hole sponsorship costs £65 and companies interested can contact KR Elliott on 0151 334 3427. Organisers are also looking for a main sponsor and any firms interested should contact Mr Elliott.

Across many years the championship has raised more than £8,000 for the St Johns Hospice, Bebington, and again this year any excess profit from the event will be sent to the hospice.
