Prestige dates are unveiled

THE Southport-based Prestige Tour for Amateur Golfers has announced its 2008 schedule starting on April 10-11 at Turnberry, next year’s Open championship venue.
The other dates are:
May 22-23, Royal Porthcawl; June 27, Forest Pines, Lincolnshire; August 28-29, Hillside- Southport and Ainsdale; October 3, Knotts, Hollinwell, Notts.
The Tour, organised jointly by Southport and Ainsdale professional Jim Payne and club colleague Simon Aplin, is now in its fourth year and attracting golfers from around the country, keen to play top quality courses.
The Tour usually provides six events each year culminating in an order of merit championship at the end of the season.
The numbers playing the Tour has been increasing, but Payne reports that there are still a limited number of places available. Further details from 01704 576298.
